Delaware and Raritan Computer Screwup
Yesterday, I took a bike ride on the Delaware and Raritan Canal Towpath. I left here about 3pm, and I got into Princeton at six. I rode on the towpath for about 23 miles, then rode down 27 to Princeton, and took the train back. I didn't have a camera with me, but I plan on riding the path again, starting earlier in the day and hopefully finishing in Trenton.
Also, every day that passes I get more and more frustrated with Windows/x86 architecture. First, my old motherboard got wonky and I replaced it. I also had to send my 80GB hard drive back to Western Digital because it died on me. Just the other night, about two weeks after I put the computer back together, the computer flat out stopped working. I'd get the NT Blue Screen saying my new motherboard was not ACPI compliant. Not likely. I updated the motherboard BIOS, same error. So now, I have a hard drive hooked up to the PC lying outside of the case because I have begun the hard drive mambo, where I install/reinstall Windows multiple times, juggling hard drives so I don't lose data again, as did happen when the 80GB died.
So, a brief summary; Fuck Microsoft and Yay! Apple.
25th Post... this blog isn't dead!
I've decided that I will again be using this blog. I'm probably going to use it to discuss items of interest on the internet, promote I Love New Jersey and post about nifty technical/hackerish things I do.
I intend, in the next few days, to formulate a way to promote the Firefox browser. I will likely do this by modifying the index of my website to add an annoying pop up if the person is viewing the site with Internet Explorer. This is done by reading the HTTP Referer (intentionally spelled wrong, that's how it is).
Actually, I think I'll work on it now.
